Crochet Diva recently posted a laptop cozy by Kristin. Other crochet bloggers started asking about teaching children to crochet, and what age is a good age to teach them, etc. Kristin learned to crochet when she was probably five-years-old. She started out doing simple chains, and gradually worked into doing single crochet making purses that you crochet in the round. Crochet Diva saved everything that Kristin made when she first learned to crochet. Sometimes Kristin would get impatient and skip stitches, but her work is all wonderful. Here are some samples of Kristin’s first purses.

And of course, Kristin’s recent work after six years of practice – a Laptop Cozy for her Momma:

For Crochet Diva’s niece-to-be… Some might think not girlie enough, but what baby doesn’t want to have a lil bear hat (As if she will care… :-P)? Diva is ready to hold the little snuggle bear. Crocheted with Simply Soft in Bone colored yarn.

Hat is a Crochet Castle Original — (In other words, the Crochet Diva winged it… :-P)

These seem to be the crochet trend lately. With all of the “Green” talk around, it isn’t any wonder people are seeking alternatives to both the “Paper or Plastic” choices of recent years. There are many patterns for crochet market bags, and Crochet Diva whipped this one up in no time. There are so many ways to help save our planet, and every little bit helps.

The wee princess is so used to her momma crocheting hats that she had to try the market bag on her head…

She couldn’t do this if it were “Plastic”…
