Favicon Madness!
Have you seen the cute little FavIcons different webpages have on them now? I have to give credit where credit is due. First, and foremost, I give credit to Rob for all of his great advice. He has studied different bloggers, and it is adviseable to have a Favicon. Browsers like Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox are compatible with Favicons. Many Bloggers use Favicons so that their blogs are easily recognizable. Other popular sites like Myspace, Livejournal, and Craftster also use Favicons.
I recently helped Rob create a Favicon for his MassageAlumni.com project, so I felt inspired to create CrochetCastle.com its own Favicon. It is simple, but will hopefully help CrochetCastle.com to be more recognizable.
Favicons have specific dimensions of 16 x 16 pixels. There are several sites that help with creating Favicons. One that I used to convert my graphic to a .ico is called Favicon Generator.
Another popular thing that many bloggers do is use their own picture for their FavIcon. This makes a Blog and Blogger more recognizable to its readers. I found a really great site to help generate a photo FavIcon here.
For those using WordPress, there is a Widget that helps using your FavIcon easier. I uploaded and used this widget without any problems. I did have to read one page of advertising, but otherwise the widget is free of charge. You can download the FavIcon widget here.
