Crochet Pot Holders ~ by Kristin
My daughters are always drawing and creating me things. For Christmas, my oldest daughter crocheted me some pot holders. I taught her how to crochet pot holders when she was like five years old. I still have all the pot holders and purses she made me. They were darlin’. I will try to post pics of some of her earlier creations soon. I have to say, though, that she did a FINE job on these pot holders for me for Christmas (She is now 10). I love them so much. There is a white one, a yellow one, and a yellow and white one. They are gorgeous, as you can see:

My mother-in-law taught me to make these, and they are so simple. Here is the pattern:
Easy Basic Potholder
Any worsted weight yarn.
H hook
Chain 35. Single crochet in second chain from hook, and in every chain across. DO NOT TURN. Go around to the other side of the chain, and single crochet in each chain on that side. Work in rounds continually until you can fold potholder together (will post pic of this step soon). Slip stitch opening closed and chain 15 to form loop. Finish off.
