I have talked about Hide Hat’s before, but I haven’t ever posted most of the hide hats I made.
I talked about this first hide hat in an earlier post, but wanted to include it here with the post of my hide hats. You can read more about this hat here.

I made a couple of hide hats for my daughter Jewell:

And I also crocheted a Hide Hat for my husband, I mentioned this hat before here.

You can find a pattern for the Hide Hat here.

Here are my beloved Ami’s. The one on the left is named Floppy — because he has such a floppy saggy neck. My sister Traci made it for me a while back. She knows I love flamingos, and I saw the pattern and begged, and well, she made it. She’s such a doll. The pattern she used came from here. Traci added her own special touch to the pattern by using fuzzy pink yarn for wings and around the legs. I think it made Floppy extra spesh.
On the right is my siamese kitten that my mom crocheted for me many moons ago. She made my brother a blue donkey, my sister Traci a pink pig, and me the siamese kitten. I still have it and love it very much. I will soon try to make my own version of these little creatures, as I found and ordered the old pattern. Be looking for them soon…

My sister, Traci, is really craftsy. She’s made my girls and me so many things (Will post pics of those soon). I’ve been working on her some things for a while, and finally just knuckled down and made her a couple of hats. She lives in Florida, but they have had a few cold days, and working at UPS can get cold at times. She wanted me to make her some WEIRD hats. Since crocheting hats is my biggest crochet passion, I went for it. I could have made WEIRDER hats, but her boss already thought these were pretty weird.
Here is her kitty hat. I crocheted it with black simply soft yarn (I LOVE simply soft for hats). Its worked with a basic single crochet and then fpdc/bpdc rotated for the band. Then, I made some kitty ears and sewed them on, and walla (Beware, she’s quite the ham with the bad kitty/good kitty thing):

Here is a Hide Hat that I crocheted her. She’s working on me one. We both wanted to crochet each other the same thing so we could compare our gauge. I saw the beginnings of it, and I can’t wait till she’s done.
Here’s the one I made her:
